To contain and manage Covid-19, in exercise of the powers conferred
under section 2 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897, read with all other enabling
provisions of Disaster Management Act, 2005, in partial modification of directions
issued vide Memo No 07/56/2020-2H4/1 dated 1.1.2022, following restrictions
will be in force till 15.1.2022

  1. Social distancing and wearing of masks
    a) Wearing of masks by all persons in public places, including workplaces
    etc. will be mandatory and must be strictly observed and enforced.
    b) Social distancing i.e minimum 6 feet distance (do gaz ki duri) for all the
    activities shall always be maintained.
  2. Movement of persons – night curfew (10.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m.)
  3. Movement of individuals for all the non-essential activities shall remain
  4. prohibited between 10.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m. within municipal limits of
  5. all the cities and towns of Punjab. The district authorities are
  6. accordingly asked to issue prohibitory orders under section 144 of Cr.
  7. PC and ensure strict compliance
  8. However, essential activities including operation of multiple shifts in
  9. industry, offices etc. (both Government and private), movement of
  10. persons and goods on National and State Highways and unloading of
  11. cargo and travel of persons to their destinations after disembarking
  12. from buses, trains and aeroplanes will be permitted.
  13. Online teaching/distance learning to be encouraged
  14. All Educational Institutions including schools, colleges, universities,
  15. coaching institutions etc. shall remain closed. However, these
  16. institutions are expected to maintain the academic schedule through
  17. online teaching. However, medical and nursing colleges may continue
  18. to function normally.
  19. Prohibited/Restricted activities
  20. a) All bars, Cinemas Halls, Multiplexes, Malls, restaurants, spas,
  21. museums, zoos etc. shall be allowed to operate at 50% of their
  22. capacity subject to all staff present being fully vaccinated.
  23. b) All Sports Complexes, stadia, swimming pools, Gyms shall remain
  24. closed (except being used for training of sports persons for
  25. participation in National/International sports events as well as for
  26. organizing National/International sports events). No Spectators or
  27. visitors are to be allowed.
  28. c) AC buses will run at 50% of capacity.
  29. Only fully vaccinated staff will be allowed to attend the Government
  30. as well as Private Offices, working spaces, factories, industries etc.
  31. Principle of No Mask – No Service
  32. No Service shall be provided in Government or private offices to the
  33. persons not wearing proper mask.
  34. Note: The district authorities may impose additional restrictions as deemed
  35. necessary, based on their assessment of the situation, but they will not dilute
  36. the above restrictions.
