Police serves notice to shopkeepers for removing encroachments outside shops

Ludhiana: Ahead of festival season, the police have started drive against encroachments in markets. The Police have served notice to shopkeepers and asked them to remove encroachments else police will take action.

The Police said that we are giving notices to shopkeepers to remove the temporary encroachment infront of their shops so that the traffic can move freely in festive season. They request all to cooperate with Ludhiana Police Department.

The Police informed that the shopkeepers, road side vendors and cart owners to remove the encroachments. Strict action would be taken against the guilty for encroaching the roads which will lead to traffic jams.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Gurdev Singh said that they are visiting the shopkeepers and giving them written notices to remove encroachments. In festival season, the shopkeepers install vends outside the shops which led to traffic jam. To end congestion, they have started anti encroachment drive.
